Oomi Energia is incorporating its rapidly growing solar business operations for corporate customers into a new company, Oomi Solar Oy. With this step, Oomi, a leading supplier of solar power plants and solar farms, boosts its solar power operations and will be able to better serve companies and communities in their transition to renewable energy.…

Oomi Solar offers corporate customers comprehensive solutions and services covering everything from the development of the solar power project to construction and the entire life cycle of the power plant. Operating throughout Finland, Oomi Solar focuses on the construction and development of industrial solar power and energy solutions for properties, such as solar power plants, charging solutions and energy storage.

“We have the most extensive experience in solar power in the Finnish market, which we want to make available as a flexible, high-quality and competitive service. We have delivered over 250,000 panels to our customers over the last decade. Our goal is to build hundreds of megawatts of additional solar power in Finland in the coming years, says Olli Tuomivaara, CEO of Oomi Solar.

Solar energy is becoming a key part of companies’ green transition

“Solar energy is a growing solution for companies and communities to achieve their climate goals. We serve as a partner to our customers, designing solutions that are best suited to each business,” says Tuomivaara.

Solar power has made great strides forward in recent years. The panels are more efficient than before and perform well even in northern conditions such as in Finland. In the future, solar energy will account for a significantly larger proportion of Finland’s electricity production, accelerated by the positive experiences already gained regarding the profitability and easy utilisation of solar power.

Currently, new growth is being generated by energy storage solutions, which not only enable the management of demand flexibility but also allow solar energy to be utilised on an even larger scale, among other things. Large-scale battery solutions are rapidly becoming more common around the world, and the production of green hydrogen with renewable electricity may become commercialised as early as this decade.

“The time for solar power is now. It has found its place as part of a sustainable energy system and will grow significantly in the coming years. However, it is important that investments are made sensibly, based on credible technical and economic calculations and experience gained from existing solar power plants. As a leading supplier of solar power, we play and will continue to play a significant role in the success of the green transition. This is the starting point on which Oomi Solar’s growth is based,” Tuomivaara says.
